Many people with horses say that a horse does not like to reverse. Yet foals reverse when investigating the novelty of grass. Aggressive adult horses reverse across a field into each other. Horses in harness reverse spontaneously for metres at a time when mishandled. There is a simple way to reverse a horse "like a toy soldier" by locating and pressing on the suprascapular nerve.
