Dr. Don M. Cregier

Introduction:

I am an historical writer, researcher, consultant, and “salvage editor.” In 1996 I retired as a history professor, after a forty-year career teaching at several American and Canadian colleges and universities--most recently at the University of Prince Edward Island.

My educational and professional background, major publications, and other facts about me are documented in my biographical entries in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, and the International Who’s Who of Authors and Writers, which may be consulted at most academic and public libraries. I have published six books and over 150 articles and reviews.

I am currently writing a political life of Captain Frederick E, Guest (1875-1937), a British politician and flying enthusiast (and first cousin of Sir Winston Churchill). As well, I am an abstracter for ABC-Clio Information Services and a reviewer for Choice: Current Reviews of Academic Books.

Although I am not actively soliciting such assignments, I will consider offers from persons needing help researching, writing, editing, or publishing historical material. My special fields of expertise are British and Irish history in the 19th and 20th centuries, but I also have some acquaintance with the history of the contemporary Middle East. I may be contacted by e-mail at dcregier@upei.ca, and require a nonrefundable downpayment of $C75.00 to review and comment on a prospective assignment, followed by an hourly fee of $C50.00-$C100.00 for any work subsequently undertaken.

I am a member of the National Coalition of Independent Scholars.
